Chobe Chilwero Lodge lies perched on a gentle hillside affording panoramic views over the Chobe River, its islands and floodplain. It lies only 5 minutes drive from the magnificent Chobe National Park.

Chobe Chilwero offers 14 spacious and exquisite thatched cottages yet has the facilities of a much larger lodge. Each spacious and air-conditioned room has an en suite bathroom with freestanding bath and seperate rain showers. Three of these rooms feature and extra bedroom - perfect for families. Each has its own private garden where you can sip cocktails after a day of game viewing, or enjoy a private dinner served under the African sky. The new Pool Suite features a private plunge pool and private deck area where you can relax with your cocktail or enjoy a private dinner for two under the stars.

The beautiful thatched Chobe Chilwero main lodge comprises a stylish and contemporary lounge and dining room linked by spectacular viewing decks overlooking the Chobe River. Meals are usually taken outdoors. Fine wines from the wine cellar make the perfect complement to each meal. High teas are often served on the lawn under the shade of the trees.

Other facilities at Chobe Chilwero include a secluded pool, library, wine and cigar cellar, communications centre, curio shop and full service spa with an treetop treatment room - a rarity in Botswana! Therapies range from a facial to massages, to relax and invigorate in true African style.

Game activities

Game activities include morning 4x4 safari game drives into Chobe National Park with its famous herds of elephant, as well as hippo, buffalo, puku, lion and other wildlife which congregate around the Chobe river banks. There are also huge herds of buffalo living in the towering teak forests that are characteristic of the area. Alternatively you can enjoy game-viewing by water on specially adapted motorboats. This allows you to see game from a completely different angle - looking up at them instead of down from a game vehicle. Sunset cruises are always special whilst fishing for the legendary tiger fish or bream can also be arranged on a catch and release basis. Chobe Chilwero aims to be as flexible as possible to cater for their guests' differing interests.

As well as game activities, you can relax in the split-level swimming pool, unwind at the spa or enjoy the lodge’s famous gourmet food. The spa offers a range of treatments to relax, restore and revitalise you.
