Cape Sidecar Tours

Experience the beauty of Cape Town in a classic 1930’s Sidecar. This is such a unique experience! Being transferred on a classic vintage 750cc Sidecar, practically unchanged in style from the late 1930’s, you’ll feel like you’re travelling back in time. You will be driven by an experienced driver/guide with one passenger riding behind the guide and another in the sidecar. There is even a roomy compartment that can take small bags/cameras. Your guide will provide bike leathers (optional) and a helmet to wear (mandatory). After choosing who starts in the sidecar and who’s on the back, you are off!

Various touring options in and around Cape Town

We can advise on the best options to suit the time of year!

2 hours – you may like to do a 2-hour sunset cruise along the Atlantic beachfront and then over Kloof Nek and back. You can be dropped off at a local restaurant afterwards (assuming you are not too bothered about your hairstyle…)

4 hours – this is ideal for a leisurely tour of the city and Atlantic coast, as far as Hout Bay or so. You could ask to be dropped off at the cable car (or collected from there) if you like.

Full day – this is ideal for exploring further afield such as the Cape Winelands or the Cape Peninsula. Our only caveat is that we only recommend this for the summer months (in case it gets too cold after a while), and also if you are fairly active as being on the back of a bike for quite a while doesn’t suit everyone. Of course, you can take turns to be in the sidecar.
