Quick Look

The Trendy Atlantic Ocean ‘villages’ of Camps Bay, Clifton, Bantry Bay and Sea Point bring out the Mediterranean aspect of Cape Town. Yet with echoes of the gleaming millionaire pads of California or The Hamptons too.

Spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, dramatic crimson sunsets. Palm trees swaying against white sandy beaches and alfresco pavement dining. This is summer holiday heaven and yet you’re only 10 to 15 minutes drive from the city centre of Cape Town.

Exact Location of Hotels Differ

Our selection of Atlantic hotels includes Bantry Bay options, such as Clarendon Bantry Bay and the majestic Ellerman House & Villas. These are closer to the city with glorious ocean views. But they are NOT easy walking distance to beaches.

Most Camps Bay hotels such as The Bay Hotel, Camps Bay Retreat and the Sea Five Boutique Hotel are all either on the sea front or very easy walking distance. But, other options lie perched high on the mountainside with glorious ocean views. The luxurious Twelve Apostles Hotel lies 5 minutes drive from Camps Bay in its own nature reserve. And so is ideal for those wanting to get away from it all.

Further along the coast is the ultra-romantic Tintswalo Atlantic just below Chapmans Peak and Last Word Long Beach on the Cape Peninsula. (This is shown under the Cape Peninsula pages)

Why We Love It

  • Mediterranean Beach Ambience, yet within a city
  • Beachside restaurants and bars
  • Yet within an easy 20 min drive of the city centre
