Yellow Aloe Guest house is a lovely little country lodge right in the heart of Clanwilliam. It is opposite the museum and a short walk from shops and restaurants. The guesthouse comprises the original homestead as well as the Thatch Cottage and The Longhouse. Accommodation is offered in three different buildings.
The main homestead at Yellow Aloe has three light and airy en suite bedrooms with old wooden floors and period features. In the main public areas, you will find wi-fi access, flat screen TV and the dining room with cappucino machine. Yellow Aloe Guesthouse has a coffee shop which offers a full English breakfast and light meals throughout the day. Relax in the garden with its sparkling swimming pool and views overlooking the Cedarberg mountains.
The Thatch Cottage is slightly more modern, with four rooms and its own private swimming pool and garden. Two bedrooms are en suite. Whilst the other two (fairly small) rooms share a bathroom and are ideal for families with small children.
Dating back to 1810, the Long House is a historic thatch-roofed house, which is one of the oldest buildings in Clanwilliam. It offers an old-world elegance and charm with five en suite bedrooms all opening onto a vine-covered terrace. This in turn overlooks the garden and a second swimming pool.
The guesthouse has an atmosphere of restful tranquility with lovely mountain views. All the rooms are air-conditioned with percale linen and flat screen TVs.
Yellow Aloe is within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, the museum and tourist office and offer the ideal base for exploring the area. Enjoy flower-viewing in the spring time, mountain walking throughout the year and scenic drives into the magnificent Cederberg mountains with its spectacular mountain passes, rock formations and rock pools. Visit one of the local rooibos farms for a tour, sample the indigenous rooibos tea or the excellent wines of the Cederberg Cellars. You can also head to Lamberts Bay, only 60 km to the west to visit Bird Island and enjoy an alfresco seafood lunch.
