Singita Sasakwa Lodge is located in the 350,000 acres of the Grumeti Reserves in northern Tanzania. This remote wilderness is part of the Serengeti Mara ecosystem and has all the attributes without the people. The lodge rambles along the rocky promotory of Sasakwa hill high above the rolling plains. The view from the spacious verandas surrounding the lodge is almost endless over the Serengeti plains below to the distant horizon. From this superb vantage point, you will become absorbed in the abundance of wildlife; including the annual migration known as one of the greatest natural spectacles on earth.
It is one of the most luxurious accommodations ever built in East Africa. A sense of grandeur is a running theme in this 'turn of the century' manor house and private cottages. This results from a blend of authentic European style and typical East African influence. This is a place that holds special appeal for those with a passion for refinement and style.
Singita Sasakwa has a perfect location for game viewing and takes full advantage of this. The open plains with few people allow for sightings where it is only you, your fellow guests and the wildlife, is a very special and private experience. There is a gym, spa and large infinity pool. The equestrian centre is absolutely perfect, the carefully selected horses, ranging from the sturdy Boerperd to thoroughbreds, are chosen for their temperament and pace. They are all at home in the bush. There is a large library and games room with television.
Food is almost an activity here as its quality is outstanding. You can have a morning coffee with all sorts of cakes, cookies and fruits on the veranda. All this while you can look over the plains through a grand set of old naval binoculars - this is such a different experience from using your own.
During a stay at Sasakwa Lodge, you are likely to spot all sorts of wildlife. You may spot cheetah, bearded wildebeest, bat eared fox, black rhino, Maasai giraffe, lion, elephant, buffalo and leopard. It's very difficult to guess where the migrating wildebeest will be in a given month as their movements depend on weather patterns influencing the availability of food and water. There is no beginning or end to the Migration, it is continual.
