Samburu Intrepids Tented Camp is one of the large camps in the Samburu National Park of northern Kenya. However their size allows guests the flexibility of a number of activities. There are twice-daily game drives with resident guides, seasonal rafting trips on the Ewaso Nyiro River, bush breakfasts and dinners under the stars, visits to neighbouring Samburu communities and the opportunity to walk, outside the reserve.
Samburu Intrepids Tented Camp has 28 'bush luxury' tents which are roomy, each with its own secluded deck and sweeping views over the Ewaso Nyiro river where huge herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra come daily to drink. Tents have a palm thatched roof and are furnished with giant four-poster beds and mahogany furniture offset by modern ensuite bathrooms. Samburu Intrepids also offers family tents which have one room with a queen size bed and a second room with two twin beds. The spacious family tents each have a lounge and deck with views of the river and the Samburu plains.
Although Samburu is an arid area, the river means plenty of water, trees and shade to attract wildlife like elephant, lion, giraffe and zebra from the surrounding savanna plains. Leopards are also regularly spotted.
