Sala’s Camp is a classic tented camp tucked in a bend of the Sand River where the Keekorok River joins. It is in one of the Mara’s most untouched corners near to the Tanzania border. There are terrific views towards the Serengeti and across the Northern Corridor, this is the first and last stop for the thousands of wildebeest and zebra that pass through. This means that Sala’s has the longest migration season in the Mara.  You get a front row seat to one of the greatest natural spectacles on earth. Sala's Camp is also known for it's fantastic birdlife in the Mara all year round so its a great option for keen birders.
The camp has seven guest tents, six twin or double tents and one big honeymoon suite, this is also a family tent. All of them are extremely comfortable with large beds, soft white linens, hanging cupboards, a sink area and an en suite bathroom with flushing loo. You can enjoy the original under canvas experience with some modern comforts, such as solar electricity and hot running water.
Before and after game drives you meet in the lovely mess tent. In front of this there is a beautiful lawn area with a day bed for some time with a good book. Here to is the bar and the dining table which sparkles with candles at night. As the sun sets the camp fire is lit, drinks poured and bitings served. As you tuck into an outstanding dinner, amazingly produced from a bush kitchen, tents are closed up, beds turned down and hot water bottles tucked under the covers.  Every detail is considered at this truly special camp inside the famous Mara Reserve.
The Sand River often has lion come to play in it and the bank opposite the camp can be covered in zebra and wildebeest during the migration season. Here you can go on a game drive and not see another vehicle; a pretty rare thing in the Mara.
