Perched above unspoilt Anse Louis beach in the south-west corner of Mahé in the Seychelles, Maia Seychelles Villas is an extravagant holistic retreat, with a great emphasis placed on escape and relaxation. Maia is one of the Seychelles’ most sort after resorts and it’s certainly one of the more expensive. There’s an excellent coral reef, brimming with colourful fish, right by the resort so snorkelling is a highlight at Maia but the focus is on relaxation and escaping the pressures of the world.
Each of the 30 exquisite air-conditioned villas features warm, earthy tones and has its own private infinity pool complete with integral sunken Jacuzzi, oversized day bed and an outdoor gazebo where you can enjoy a private dinner. You can remain cocooned in your private villa away from the world. Your private butler will intuitively sees to your needs and even prepare light meals on request.
Each air-conditioned villa is massive (250m² villa & deck) with bedroom, sitting room area, minibar, spacious bathroom with bath and indoor/outdoor showers. High-tech touches include flat-screen TVs and DVD, surround-sound system and iPod station. Locations vary, from those with 180° uninterrupted sea views (ocean panoramic villas) to those on the beach.
Villas are divided into three Ocean View villas, eleven Ocean Panoramic villas on the hillside, eight Ocean Front villas (where children are welcome to stay) and eight ultra private Signature Villas. Signature Villas come with complimentary champagne on arrival, laundry, private yoga sessions, manicure and pedicure in the privacy of your villa and a painting kit for you to express the creative urge!
Indulgent escapism is also offered in the superb Balinese-style spa with its revitalising therapies in open air pavilions as well as complimentary yoga and Qi Gong sessions in the meditation pavilion and a fully equipped fitness centre.
As well as the spa, Maia Luxury Resort & Spa has a beautiful main swimming pool lined with black Seychellois lava stone overlooking the hotel’s long sandy beach.
Maia Luxury Resort & Spa is child-friendly with a diverse range of activities for kids depending on their age. Your butler is also on hand to entertain your kids if you want some time alone. Trips can also be arranged to La Digue or Bird Island with their dramatic, volcanic rock formations and wonderful rare bird and turtle sightings.
