The restored Edwardian mansion of Shamwari Long Lee overlooks a water hole and the sweeping plains leading down to the Bushmans River. Originally built in 1910, Long Lee Manor captures the spirit of a bygone era. It offers an unashamedly colonial safari experience with its wood panelling, historical photographs & paintings, and luxurious furnishings.
Long Lee Manor accommodates 38 guests in 15 elegant & classically decorated bedrooms and 3 suites all with ceiling fan, air-conditioning and heating, satellite television, tea/coffee facilities and full bathroom with bath and shower.
Activities at Shamwari Long Lee Manor include morning and afternoon game drives in open landrovers with well-trained rangers who are extremely knowledgeable. During the heat of the day, the manor offers plenty of spaces to relax with a good book or a drink, perhaps around the swimming pool, in the garden lounge or out in the gardens. Alternatively why not try one of the many rejuvenating spa treatments at the Spa.
You have the option of enjoying traditional cuisine in the main dining room, under the pepper tree or outside around a blazing fire at the Barn. There’s also the magical river lapa for a dinner in the African bush.
Other activities on the Shamwari reserve include the Ian Player Rhino Awareness Centre, the Born Free Big Cat Sanctuary and the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.
