Overview

Lemala Ngorongoro  is a hidden gem of a safari camp located on the less busy Eastern side of the Ngorongoro Crater rim. As the camp is situated just next to the Lemala gate entry to the Ngorongoro Crater, you can reach the Crater floor in just 10-15 minutes. With such a convenient base for your game activities, it's a major plus for your safari. Set in mature acacia forest, this secluded camp of just 8 luxury tents and 1 family tent, is sure to give guests the feeling of exclusivity in its pristine forest surroundings.

Family size tents

Lemala Ngorongoro is ideal for families as each of the 8 spacious tents can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children. Furthermore, the larger family tent can take up to 2 adults and 2 to 3 children. All tents are ensuite with a large safari shower and have either two queen size beds or one king size bed, hot water bottles, gas heater for those chilly evenings and wooden flooring.

Lemala Activities

Lemala guests usually have an hour's head start over others in the morning, which is crucial for photographers who demand the best light conditions. Another advantage is its close proximity to Ol Moti and Empakai craters. Here guests can trek to admire beautiful landscapes and habitats. Escorted walks are also available from the camp into the forest and along the crater rim with an armed ranger and a Masai to enjoy spectacular panoramic views. The camp works closely with the local Masai community. There are often dances and talks on Masai traditions and ceremonies providing guests the opportunity to interact with the tribe.
