Lalibela Tree Tops Tented Camp

Lalibela Private Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape comprises three lodges within 7,500ha of Big Five malaria-free bushveld: the romantic Lalibela Tree Tops Tented Camp, Lentaba Lodge and the family-friendly Mark’s Camp.

Game drives in an open 4x4 vehicle with an experienced game ranger bring you face to face with a multitude of game species, ranging from mighty elephant, lion, rhino and buffalo to tiny blue duiker and rock hyrax.  Night drives focus on the elusive bat-eared fox, aardvark, black-backed jackal and aardwolf. All of the animals, including the predators, are free-roaming throughout the entire reserve. Lalibela spans five eco-systems, (valley bushveld, savanna grassland, fynbos, riverine forest and acacia woodland), resulting in a huge diversity of fauna and flora. African wild dogs, spotted hyena and lion can also be seen.

Lalibela Tree Tops Tented Camp is ideal for honeymooners and all romantics. The four luxury safari tents, perched high on thatched platforms at tree top level, are connected by raised walkways and offer spectacular views over the thickly-wooded valley. The rooms, with their canvas walls and thatched roofs have huge window areas and give guests the feeling of being right in the bush. Each room has a private veranda where guests can relax in privacy, shower room, underfloor heating, ceiling fan, telephone and hairdryer.

Special care and consideration was taken during the construction of Lalibela Tree Tops Tented Camp to minimise the impact on the pristine vegetation in this Eastern Cape valley. Tree Tops has a large lounge and open-air dining deck with a view over a small waterhole. Relax around the swimming pool or in the shaded gazebo.  The food is true safari cuisine with an emphasis on local specialties, ranging from centuries-old recipes to exciting contemporary African dishes.
