Lairds Lodge Country Estate

Laird's Lodge Country Estate is a gracious Cape Dutch homestead situated between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay. It offers gourmet food, mountain views, wide open spaces, secluded swimming pool, koi ponds and gentle walks on the 24-acre estate.

All 15 individually decorated, high-ceilinged rooms combine elegance and charm with comfortable, spacious accommodation. Each has air conditioning, percale linen and quality toiletries. Bath gowns, telephone and tea/coffee facilities add to the restrained luxury.

Food is a very important part of the Laird’s Lodge experience. Delicious breakfasts with fresh fruits, just-baked breads, croissants and muffins, homemade jams and preserves, and cooked options – will prepare you for the day ahead.

In the evening pre-dinner drinks are enjoyed around heated braziers in the candlelit courtyard or in the informal brandy lounge. Specialising in seafood and game dishes, Laird’s offers sociable 4-course gourmet dinners in the traditional reed ceilinged dining room, or in the rustic charm of the wine room. Every meal is carefully paired with selected wines from the Cape, ensuring a memorable South African dining experience.

Enjoy a languid afternoon lazing on one of several verandas where complimentary homemade iced tea is served. Indoors, the front lounge with its comfortable couches, small library, complimentary internet access, wood burning fireplace, and satellite television provides a welcoming backdrop to tea and the day’s decadent cake. The brandy lounge also has cosy seating arrangements ideal for enjoying an after-dinner brandy or whisky, along with a separate large screen television area for the sports enthusiast.
