Jaci's Tree Lodge, on the eastern side of the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa provides a delightful and authentic African experience with vibrant colours and funky modern touches.

Accommodation

Jaci's Tree Lodge has eight spacious 'tree houses' each encompassing a giant Tamboti or Leadwood tree. It is located within the riverine forest on stilts, up to 4 metres from the ground. An open plan, en-suite bathroom with an enormous stone bath and outdoor 'jungle' shower' allow you to enjoy your forest surroundings. Decorated in vibrant reds and greens and complemented by modern African artworks, each room at Jaci's Tree Lodge has a private deck, an ideal spot to watch the resident mongoose families in the trees. Air-conditioning, ceiling fans and a fireplace ensures a comfortable temperature throughout the year. Raised wooden walkways, suspended in the forest canopy connect you from your "tree house" to the main lodge.

Main areas of Jaci's Tree Lodge

The main lodge area has open sides and incorporates elements of North African design with a funky bar and sitting area. There is also an open dining area and off to one side, you have a reading and relaxing sala complete with hammock to really help you chill whilst on safari. Relax on your own private deck, laze in the hammock in the reading sala or wander to the forest pool to cool off. Dinners are an intimate affair at Jaci's Tree Lodge where you dine under the stars, either in the boma or at a bush braai after the excitement of a day on safari.

Older families

Jaci's Lodges are known for their family safaris especially given that the Madikwe game reserve is malaria-free. Of the two lodges, Jaci's Safari Lodge is more suited to younger children.  Due to its structure, on wooden stilts connected by raised walkways, Jaci's Tree Lodge isn't suitable for small children.  Kids 13 years and older are welcome, but are treated as adults.
