The exclusive Jabulani Safari is situated on the Kapama Private Game Reserve in the Greater Kruger Park. Jabulani is known for its unique elephant interaction - an exciting and novel way of learning about one of the most majestic wild animals. Game viewing can also be enjoyed in open safari vehicles on morning and afternoon game drives and also on guided bush walks.
Jabulani Safari is truly luxurious - an open-plan dining room and lounge merge with the wooden deck which lies in the shade of a gigantic leadwood tree. An impressive hanging bridge connects these opulent living areas with the suites which flank the river bed. The main area also includes an impressive wine cellar, which doubles as a private dining room on request, as well as an inviting shop full of beautiful African arts and crafts.
The six spacious suites are very luxurious and secluded. Massive wooden sliding doors open into the spacious interior which is a pure translation of style, comfort and elegance. Each has its own private deck with a plunge pool, fireplace and sitting area, well-stocked private bar and air-conditioning. The open plan bathroom includes a large Victorian bath, double vanity and a stunning glass-enclosed shower as well as a separate toilet. Facilities include telephone, mini bar stocked with your choice of drinks, tea/coffee facilities, air conditioning, fan and in-room safe.
One child can be accommodated in the suites on a sleigh bed which doubles as a day bed. Please note that the open plan bathroom may not suit everyone. Close to the suites is a Therapy Lapa and a Bush Gym.
You normally arrive at Jabulani Safari camp around lunch time. After lunch you meet the elephants for a briefing and interaction, followed by sundowners in the bush. After the sundowners, you can take a short game drive before dinner. Day two starts with a wake up call followed by a morning elephant interaction or a game drive or a game walk, depending on what you feel like doing. After breakfast there is a specialized tour of the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre near Kapama, which includes the opportunity to interact with the cheetahs. Lunch is followed by an afternoon at leisure and use can be made of the gym, spa and sauna. You then head out on a game drive with informal sundowners.
The uber-luxurious three bedroom Zindoga Villa is perfect for family parties, with truly superb accommodation. It has a master bedroom en suite as well as two other en suite bedrooms. Children are very welcome to enjoy an elephant interaction in the morning.
Zindoga also offers a Tusker Team family programme with their child-friendly rangers. Kids are whisked off into a wildlife wonderland to participate in various exciting activities (usually for around 2 hours). Activities vary by season but include: Dung throwing • Orienteering (learning to find the way home) • Basic bush cooking and baking • “Tusker” tales (fascinating stories) • Spoor casting • Make your own African animal T-shirt • Star-naming (learning about heavens and constellations) • Animal Conservation Initiatives • Making Paper (out of recycled elephant dung...) • Bird watching and identification • Bug catching • Mammal behaviour lessons • Land Rover Orientation (junior rangers must know the ins and outs of their safari vehicle!) • Indigenous stories and basic language skills
However children (6 to 12) can also share with their parents in one of the luxury suites. But they are only allowed to join the adult game drive from age six & upwards.
