Only a twenty minute flight from Mahe, Fregate Island rises 125 metres out of the Indian Ocean, a uniquely peaceful setting of verdant, tropical vegetation fringed by seven beaches, each a brilliant sweep of powdery white sand guarded by giant, iconic granite boulders. The 16 massive villas (mostly 400-500sqm) each have one or two bedrooms, sitting room, two bathrooms, generous sundeck with outside showers, large infinity pool and jacuzzi, daybed pavilion and dining pavilion overlooking both the lush jungle and ocean. Each is nestled into the coastline naturally screened from each other by vegetation with a private beach buggy for your use. Each villa has telephone, wireless internet access, TV, DVD/CD player, iPod station, air-conditioning, safe, minibar and tea/coffee facilities and can accommodate one extra child.

Fregate House Restaurant and the Plantation House serving authentic creole dishes, both offer innovative cuisine inspired by the fruits & vegetables grown on their island plantation. The Pirate’s bar, beach bar and wine cellar are other convivial meeting places. Alternatively you can opt for a private romantic dinner in their unique Tree House.

Conservation on Fregate Island

This remote granite island has several conservation projects on the go. One such project is the rehabilitation of the indigenous forest with tens of thousands of trees planted. This works hand in hand within its status as a bird sanctuary to thousands of tropical birds with more than 100 species spotted here. It is credited with having saved the Seychelles Magpie Robin from extinction as well.
