Franschhoek Country House & Villas is a Provençal-style country house hotel on the edge of the picturesque village of Franschhoek.

The Guesthouse surrounded by vineyards and the Franschhoek mountains and is set around a former perfumery dating back to 1890. It combines luxurious accommodation and superb food with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly ambiance.

Franschhoek Country House also boasts the contemporary Monneaux restaurant - rated as one of South Africa's best. Innovative Modern French Cuisine is known at this Restaurant. Lunch is served under a spreading pepper tree on the fountain terrace whilst dinner is served in the dining room or enclosed veranda. The wine list has some of the top local wines. You can also enjoy glass of wine in the wine bar or their underground cellar.

Accommodation at Franschhoek Country House

Franschhoek Country House has 14 rooms and 12 villa suites.

The luxury rooms are all furnished and decorated in period style, with flat screen TV, air-conditioning, telephone, mini-bar, tea & coffee facilities and bathrooms with bath and shower. The luxury rooms (approx. 48sqm) each have their own lounge area with fireplace. Some standard rooms are in the main homestead and are slightly smaller (approx. 35sqm). Almost all rooms lead out onto private balconies or private patio with  views.

The 12 Villa Suites, each a massive 100sqm in size, with separate bedroom and lounge, decadent bathrooms with free standing baths, two private balconies, air-conditioning, open fireplace, underfloor heating, music throughout the suite, DVD player and many other personal touches.

During summer, you can laze at one of the two pools (one heated) with views of the surrounding mountains. The gardens are also inspired by Provence with formal walkways, lined with lavender and roses. Large bowls of scented lavender and lemons brings smells inside the Hotel.

Alternatively you can visit some of the many boutique wine estates or explore the country village founded by the French Huguenots. Enjoy a complimentary sherry  in one of the lounges alongside a crackling log-fire. There's also an in-house beauty salon.
