Overview

Resting in the charming suburb of Fresnaye in Cape Town, The Clarendon Fresnaye reflects a glamorous ambiance. Nestled on the lower slopes of Lions Head, the hotel offers exhilarating views of the indigo ocean along South Africa's most beautiful coast. However, please note that the rooms are generally NOT sea-facing.

The Clarendon Fresnaye comprises two houses set in spacious gardens against the backdrop of a mass of pink bougainvillea. This cosmopolitan city boutique lodge caters to families, honeymooners and couples who wants to enjoy the best of Cape Town.

The exquisitely decorated rooms either overlook the lush gardens, towering mountain or have immaculate sea views. The Clarendon is unusual in that it has three family suites with a main bedroom and a second bedroom suitable for kids. Two full-size swimming pools adorn the garden, making it an ideal family retreat.

The Clarendon Fresnaye is situated in one of the most exclusive suburbs of Cape Town. It is both shielded from the winds and also within minutes of the V & A Waterfront, Table Mountain, Camps Bay and Clifton beaches, and the cosmopolitan city centre with its shops and restaurants.

Review of Clarendon Fresnaye

What a delight to stay here! Clarendon Fresnaye is the more family-friendly of the two Clarendon hotels. They have 11 rooms and 5 family suites (each with two bedrooms) rangeing across two buildings, both set in established gardens with two swimming pools.

I loved my Premium room which was well-appointed, spacious and with a lovely balcony with an expansive mountain, city and partial sea view. The bathroom was compact but stylished kitted out in marble.

The team at Clarendon Fresnaye were super-friendly and helpful and very professional. And the breakfast was extensive and delicious. They also offer both a light lunch and dinner menu if you dont feel like going out to dinner. (As it is very pleasant to relax at the hotel.)

(Kosher - note that they can also provide a Kosher breakfast and other meals. Or order in from a nearby Kosher restaurant.)
