Chobe Game Lodge is an established luxury game lodge of attractive Moorish architecture. It has a superb location - the only permanent game lodge within the Chobe National Park. This is a huge advantage! As it gives guests an extra 30 minutes on safari before the park gates have opened and after they have closed at sunset.
Chobe Game Lodge is a much larger lodge than is usual in Botswana. With 40 supremely comfortable twin en suite rooms all facing the river. However this size is offset by its location. The rooms are cooled by overhead fans and air-conditioning. Whilst a complimentary mini bar is on offer. Upstairs are 4 suites, with private plunge pools and sun decks with glorious Botswana river views. There are inter-leading rooms and triple rooms, ideal for friends and families travelling together.
The lodge, and attractive rock swimming pool, are surrounded by gardens and overlook the Chobe River and its floodplains. There's a glorious terrace overlooking the Chobe River. And a boma (African reeded eating area) that lies under large mahogany trees on the river banks. The food is very good with a different theme for each meal and as far as possible, different dining experiences.
Other facilities at Chobe Game Lodge include a wildlife reference library, discrete business centre (if you absolutely must keep in touch). A stylish bar with full-sized pool tables and two restaurants. There's also a spa and gym offering a range of massages and beauty treatments.
Unsurpassed wildlife opportunities are offered with guided safaris either by vehicle, boat or on foot. Chobe Game Lodge now have an electric fleet of game-drive vehicles and several safari boats are electric and some solar powered. Experience much quieter, more authentic safaris whilst the natural environment benefits from a cleaner operation. As the vehicles and boats are CO2 emission free.
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives or game-viewing by boat using shallow and highly manoeuvrable boats piloted by expert boatmen. You can also enjoy canoeing and sunset riverboat cruises on the Chobe River on the atmospheric Mosi-oa-Tunya boat. A special additional activity is star gazing on the rooftop of the lodge with talks on the stars given on request by their resident expert.
Chobe Game Lodge is a large lodge and so occasionally it's used by groups but the vast majority of clients are safari travellers. If you are looking for an intimate small lodge then this lodge may not be for you, and we recommend its sister lodge, Chobe Savanna Lodge, instead. However if you love the idea of being IN the park hosted by a well-run experienced team, then consider Chobe Game Lodge.
Please note that as Chobe Game Lodge is in the Chobe National Park, no night drives and bush walks are allowed by the parks authorities but the quality of your game-viewing more than makes up for it.
Chobe Game Lodge also welcomes children of all ages and so it's ideal for family safaris. Families with children under six years need to take their own private vehicle and guide for additional flexibility on game drive length.
