Sabi Sands Game Reserve is renowned for Big Five game viewing. And lies adjacent to the south-west corner of The Kruger National Park, with which it shares a 50-kilometer boundary. There are no fences between the two reserves, allowing game to move freely between the areas. And, as a result, the reserve offers some of the most exceptional wildlife in Southern Africa.
Cheetah Plains feature 3 exclusive-use, contemporary, luxurious, off-the-grid bushveld villas. Each comprises of a main house with four private guest suites. Each house boasts 2 lounges, dining areas, an outdoor boma, wine cellars & a heated swimming pool as well as a private game viewing vehicle & designated field guide for the duration of your stay. Named after 2 of Sabi Sands' legendary leopards and a dominant lion coalition, the three luxurious bushveld houses are named “Mvula”, “Karula” and “Mapogo” respectively.
The vision was for the interiors of the villas to seamlessly blend in with the natural surroundings, enhancing the safari experience of the guests. A calm and distilled palette with natural materials were carefully chosen to create a minimalist interior inspired by African elements. Combinations of raw, rich timbers and fabrics with patented metals were used to create a contrast in textures; bronze and gold accents adding subtle hints of luxury in a discreet way.
The King-bedded guest suites each have their own private deck, dressing room, lounge, double rain shower & bath overlooking the splendid African Bushveld.
As a fully inclusive seductive safari experience, all meals are prepared by your private chef and wines are carefully chosen from your own wine cellar. A private spa therapist, a central gym facility as well as twice-daily game drives are also included in the rates, offering guests unrivalled game viewing opportunities, complete with a private game viewing vehicle and designated field guide.
As part of the concession rights, only two safari vehicles are allowed in the shared areas of the reserve at any given time. You're guaranteed exclusivity as you go on safari through Cheetah Plains and the surrounding area, giving you the added privilege of peace, quiet and relatively undisturbed wildlife. An experienced field guide will take you through the reserve in an electric game vehicle to make the most of the game viewing opportunities. Lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, antelope and more will be spotted among the gorgeous thorn and marula trees.
Cheetah Plains is actively involved in the surrounding local communities of Utah and Dixie. A visit to these neighbouring villages will give you insight into the rural South African way of life, allowing you to meet the village elders and share in the exuberance and enthusiasm of the villagers.
Cheetah Plains provides a platform that showcases art pieces from featured South African artists as part of the Cheetah Plains collection.
