The Cape Heritage Hotel lies right in the heart of the city on the fringe of historic Bo-Kaap area (Malay Quarter). It offers its guests the chance to relive history whilst enjoying the most modern international standards of service and accommodation. Originally an 18th century townhouse dating back to 1771, the hotel is full of character and charm with wide wooden floorboards, high beamed teak ceilings, wide hallways, solid oak doors and large sash windows.
As an integral part of the fashionable and historic Heritage Square, the Cape Heritage Hotel offers direct access to a vibrant community of restaurants, wine merchants, art galleries, jewellers and fine craft and fashion shops. Many of these are located around the 18th century courtyard, which features the oldest known vine in South Africa. This means that you have a choice of five well regarded restaurants right on the hotel's doorstep.
The Cape Heritage is also easy walking distance to Greenmarket square, the Museum of Gold and the art galleries and diamond shops of the Cape Town city centre.
Each of the 17 rooms at the Cape Heritage Hotel is individually decorated to a different interior design theme. Guests can choose between suites, luxury or superior rooms and apartments. The difference in room type being determined by size and original features. The superior rooms & suites are in the original house, and are particularly special, with Cape antiques and original features.
Please note that some of these are rather formal in style given the original workmanship and style of the building. All have king-size beds, spacious bathrooms with bath and shower, air-conditioning, satellite TV and minibar.
The Cape Heritage Hotel has decided to partner with charities and non-profit organisations that are working to make a difference in Cape Town City. For example, the Zip Zap Circus School, which aims to inspire young people and encourage peaceful coexistence across cultures.
The Cape Heritage Hotel also offers bursaries for the children of the staff. The Hotel consider the staff team as part of the family, including their children. So in 2015 they set up a bursary fund to ensure all the staff member’s children had access to quality education.
