Camps Bay Retreat in Cape Town lies in one of the most beautiful bays in the world. It nestles between the mountainous ranges of Lions Head, Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles, overlooking the mighty Atlantic Ocean.

Camps Bay Retreat is a romantic boutique hotel set in four acres of gardens which cascade down to the ocean with its own private gate bringing you right to the secluded Glen Beach. From here it's an easy walk to the restaurants, cafes and beach of Camps Bay.

Accommodation choices at Camps Bay Retreat

There are three styles of accommodation to choose  - the historical 1929 Earl's Dyke Manor, the contemporary Deck House and the Garden Suites. All share the glorious indigenous gardens, two swimming pools (one heated), floodlit tennis court, gym and a Wellness Centre with a range of body and beauty treatments. Mountain bikes are also available for your use. At the bottom of the garden is an enchanting mountain pool!

Earl's Dyke Manor is reminiscent of a more graceful era. There's a large central reception area which leads to several sitting rooms, library, cigar lounge and restaurant. French doors lead out to the colonnaded terrace with its glorious garden and ocean views. All five suites and rooms in the manor house are classically designed and vary in size. All have spacious modern open plan bathrooms, television, telephone, minibar, internet access and DVD player.

In contrast the Deck House at Camps Bay Retreat has been developed along clean modern lines with lots of sunlight and large wooden decks. The Deck House has its own pool and is reached via a quirky swing bridge over the river. All six rooms have private decks and vary in size.

Next to the Deck House are three Garden Suites. Camps Bay Retreat also has a three bedroom villa and two studio villas for those looking for more space and privacy.

The restaurant at Camps Bay Retreat is very popular and serves delicious dishes using fresh ingredients - many of the vegetables are grown on the estate.
