Plantation Lodge

Plantation Lodge is a wonderfully romantic owner-run lodge, set in 45 acres of rolling green farmlands and Ngorongoro highland forests. The lodge has a great location on the lower slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater and is 30 minutes from Ngorongoro crater park gates and only 45 minute drive from Lake Manyara Airfield.

Accommodation ranges from the luxurious, sometimes quirky, seven suites through to the eleven stylish standard rooms. Plus there's a spacious Garden House with four double bedrooms which can be taken on an exclusive use basis. Set amongst the shady gardens, each room is decorated in its own style.  Families are well catered for in either a Family Suite or Family Unit, each comprising two bedrooms. Each has a veranda or terrace with a view of the gardens. With this variety in accommodation, Plantation Lodge has something to suit everyone from families to honeymooners.

The lodge

Plantation Lodge also offers a generously sized swimming pool and surrounding terraces, with streams, lovely trees and luxuriant plants. The open lodge grounds are a great place to sit and take in the views over the surrounding farmland. Its location in Ngorongoro is excellent for bird-spotting, with some 300 species of birds.

Although the gardens are a gorgeous setting for the lodge, they also play a central role in providing fresh ingredients including vegetables, salads, herbs and fruit for their cuisine. The beautiful flowers you'll see in and around the rooms of Plantation Lodge are also sourced from the gardens.

Other facilities include a small spa and a second dining room for children.
