Situated in the western corridor of the legendary Serengeti, Singita Faru Faru overlooks a natural waterhole and the tree line of the Grumeti River. Due to the natural watering hole in front of Faru Faru, guests neednāt ever leave as here the safari comes to you. The surrounding grassland is so fullĀ of wildlife that youĀ can lounge in the swimming pool overlooking the waterhole, recline in the Lodge's elevated viewing decksĀ orĀ unwind in the comfort of your luxurious room and watch as predators and prey are drawn right up to the lodge.
The lodgeĀ is in the 350,000 acre Grumeti Reserves in Northern Tanzania. There are daily game drives with professional guides and trackers. This is just the perfect place to get up close to Africaās incredible animalsĀ day and night. The wide open spaces teem with game of all sizes and spot-lit night time drives reveal the elusive magic of Ā Africa after dark. TheĀ game drives are in carefully modified Land Cruisers, each accommodating a maximum of six guests. During your stay at Singita Faru Faru, you are likely to spot a great variety of wildlife including cheetah, bearded wildebeest, bat eared fox, black rhino, Maasai giraffe, lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, zebra and the rare Colobus monkey. There is also a gym and a spa.
The nine stone, canvas and thatched suites (including a family suite and a two-bedroom villa) have the air of a classic safari camp, yet the interiors offer the ultimate in contemporary chic with panoramic glass windows, mirrored room dividers and freestandingĀ baths. The result is very atmospheric. TheĀ wall facing theĀ riverine bush is largely glazed and gives superb bush views. The suites have air conditioning and some have a choice of interior or exterior showers.
Children are welcome at Faru Faru and there is plenty to keep them entertained from archery to baking with the chefs. Most notably, there is a very cool Mini Rangers' Course for kids. This program includes: tracking animals; a cosmic safari (astronomy); learning bush survival techniques; flower-pressing (in summer); frogging; butterfly capture and release; game, tree and bird-spotting competitions; nature quizzes and a Ranger's test. On completion of the course, these proud achievers are awarded a certificate to recognise their new-found knowledge and accomplishments.
