Crawford's Beach Lodge is nestled in the middle of the beautiful Cintsa Bay on the Wild Coast, surrounded by rolling hills, lush tropical beach forests and overlooking the warm Indian Ocean. Crawford's offers rustic but comfortable accommodation. Spend your days walking on endless golden beaches and be absorbed by the natural beauty of the landscape while discovering new bird and fish life indigenous to the area.
Crawford’s Beach Lodge is approximately 42km from East London, the surfside city famous for its Nahoon Reef, so it’s well-positioned to combine with an Eastern Cape safari lodge.
Each of the 20 spacious rooms comes equipped with tea/coffee facilities, satellite television, safe, mini-fridge, air-conditioning, hairdryer, deck or balcony and en suite shower room. The price mainly differs according to their location with the front chalets (Dolphin suites) being the most expensive, followed by the back chalets (Kingfisher suites with sea views) and the ones in the middle (Musselcracker) being the least expensive as they don’t really have a sea view.
Crawford’s Beach Lodge is very family friendly with 2 and 3 bedroom apartments on offer on the back row. There’s also plenty on offer for kids to do from tennis to games to visits to the beach.
Crawford's offers delicious home-made meals in their dining room overlooking the sea including a seafood buffet every Saturday evening. Other facilities include in room spa treatments, bar, swimming pool, tennis court, children’s playground with jungle gym and kid’s games room. Outside there is 35km of unspoilt beach to explore!
Outdoor adventures are abundant from gentle or more strenuous hiking through indigenous bush and on wide and deserted beaches, to scuba diving, surfing or kite-boarding. The Inkwenkwezi Private Game Reserve is a 10 minute drive away and guided tours in open vehicles to see rhino, elephant, giraffe, zebra and a variety of antelope can be arranged. The Chintsa area is a birdwatcher's paradise with a wide variety of birdlife including sea, estuary, river and inland species.
