Nestled in the heart of the Constantia valley in Cape Town lies Glen Avon Lodge. This tastefully furnished lodge, with its yellowwood beamed ceilings and breathtaking mountain views is a comfortable Cape Town getaway for all those wanting peace and tranquillity. You would hardly know that you were in Cape Town when your staying in the Constantia valley.
Glen Avon Lodge is unusual for a Cape Town guest lodge in that it has a full-on restaurant with resident chef as well as a selection of fine local wines. The three course menu changes daily and begins with canapés in the sitting room. Breakfast is another feast with tables laid out on the terrace overlooking its lovely gardens.
Accommodation at Glen Avon Lodge is elegant, classical and well appointed, with a range of rooms and suites. Many of which have private patios overlooking the beautiful rose-filled gardens. All have big modern bathrooms with walk-in showers, as well as international plug points, gowns, percale duvets, air-conditioning, internet access, minibar & tea/coffee facilities. The superior suites also have a hidden-away kitchenette facility, ideal for longer stays.
During the day you soak up the sun on sun loungers, swim in the eleven metre solar heated pool or relax in the colourful garden filled with roses and cottage flowers, in preparation for the gastronomic delights of the evening.
Though Glen Avon Lodge is 20 minutes from the city centre & V&A waterfront, its actually well-situated for enjoying all the varied sights of Cape Town. Kirstenbosch Botanical gardens are close by as well as the various Constantia wine estates right on your doorstep. The popular scenic drive around Cape Point and Chapmans Peak is also much more easily accessed from here.
Your hosts, Wendy, Annette and David Stringer welcome you with true Capetonian hospitality.
